Weekly Poll: Angelina Jolie in "Changeling"
If you remember last year, I was one of the few people who doubted Angelina's chances for "A Mighty Heart." Part of me figures that if she couldn't get nominated for that movie, why should we predict her for "Changeling"?
But I could just be biased this time around, because I really, really, really did not like "Changeling."
What do you guys think: Will Angelina get a nod this year or will someone else take her place ... again?

I can't get a good idea of how much the Academy liked Changeling. Cinematography nod? Costume? I suppose if they like it for that, Jolie could get in. I say yes, because she has techs giving her a boost.
I thought Jolie was good. Should she get a nomination? As of right now, my answer is yes. But I still havn't seen Winslet, Scott Thomas, Streep, Beckinsale, Blanchett, or even Emma Thompson.
Well, Andy, Changeling is a box office sucess and the reviews aren't THAT bad at all 55% in RT and 66% in metacritic. If Cate Blanchetta nd Barbara Hershey do it. Why not her?

Or Kidman who I am predicting. This week we will find out if Australia is actually a Best Picture contender. If it is, expect it to get nominated in at least 10+ categories.
This year we will be back to the films that receive double digits in noms.
If that woman gets a NOMINATION for that piece of shit movie Changeling I will believe less in the academy. If Changeling gets nominated for ANYTHING other than some tech nods I will hate myself for being a fan of the Oscars.
I saw that damn movie. I can't express how MUCH it wants to be nominated and should not be. FUCK Clint Eastwood! It's as if because he's doing a film its "OSCAR WORTHY", bull shit! There are people who elevate his work for him, and in this instance Angelina did not!
Angelina- her worst work yet for this picture. Over acting, gratuitous crying, she seemed so untruthful. There is something that comes from your gut when you express grief in film, and she came across incredibly bland and SO FAKE!!!!!!!!!! She was acting with a 'K', and it was baddddddddddddddd.
I mean her performances in Gia, Girl Interrupted, and A Mighty Heart (THAT's what she should have been nominated for) are the performances that made me truly respect Angelina as an a great actress. Regardless of all her fame, underneath it all she was a fucking talented woman.
After this movie I feel her new life might have tarnished that insight you need as an actor. There is something you need to remain in your soul as an actor. You can't let that (whatever that is) get in the way.
She might have. And her way has blocked her from a deserved nomination this year in my opinion
Plus, people want her to get nominated this time, and that's going to ruin her chances. Last year it wasn't enough people supporting her (or the academy couldn't deal with her or wanted too, even though she SHOULD have)
No! Please take her down as a contender this year. She didn't move me, she bore me.

The combination of the so-so critical reception of the movie and Jolie's constant (and I mean CONSTANT) presence in the tabloids and on the celebrity news means the Academy will most likely pass her by. I mean how much more publicity does she need?

Not that I don't believe in Angelina. Every actor has a misstep. Believe me. I do ALL THE TIME! Acting is hard to get you know...but it just wasn't good.
I just had to say this. I re-read my comment and I sound so angry! I'm sorry to Clint. He is an amazing director, Changeling however was my least favorite of all time....not that this erases my former comment. I just need to add some sugar to the bitter comment I left. MY BAD!
